Neighborhood Naming Contest – Terms & Conditions
By submitting an entry to the North 24th Street Neighborhood Naming Contest (“Contest”), you agree to the following terms and conditions:
1. Eligibility
The Contest is open to individuals aged 18 or older. By entering, you confirm that the submission is your original idea and does not infringe on any third-party rights.
2. Submission Rights & Ownership
By submitting a name for consideration, you agree that all rights, including but not limited to intellectual property, usage, and branding rights, are fully and irrevocably transferred to the Contest Organizer.
All submissions will be treated as “works made for hire” under U.S. copyright law. If, for any reason, a submission is not considered a work made for hire, you agree to assign—and do hereby assign—all right, title, and interest in the submission to the Contest Organizer. This assignment is final, non-reversible, and irrevocable.
Entrants waive any right to inspect or approve the use of their submission or any derivatives thereof.
3. Winner Selection
The winning name will be selected at the sole discretion of the Contest Organizer. The selected winner will receive a one-time cash prize of $1,000. No other compensation will be awarded.
Winning the contest does not entitle the winner to any future ownership, royalties, or participation in the use, development, branding, or implementation of the name, business district, or any associated projects.
4. Waiver of Future Claims
By entering this Contest, you agree that if your entry is selected as the winning submission:
You will not assert or claim any future ownership, royalties, licensing, branding, marketing, or intellectual property rights related to the name or any versions of it.
You waive the right to sue, claim credit, or demand compensation in the future, regardless of how the name is used, adapted, branded, or monetized.
You release the Contest Organizer, its affiliates, successors, and partners from any and all liability, obligations, or financial responsibility beyond the one-time prize.
You further agree not to assist or participate in any claim or action adverse to the Contest Organizer regarding the name or any related materials.
5. Use of Submissions
The Contest Organizer reserves the right to use, adapt, modify, combine, or disregard any submitted name without restriction, attribution, or additional approval. Entry into the Contest does not guarantee use of any submission.
6. Publicity Release
By entering, you grant permission for your name, likeness, and submitted entry to be used by the Contest Organizer for promotional, advertising, and documentation purposes without additional compensation.
7. Disputes, Governing Law, and Arbitration
This Contest and its terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska.
Any disputes arising out of or related to the Contest will be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration conducted in Omaha, Nebraska, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association. By entering, you waive any right to a court trial or to participate in a class-action lawsuit.
8. Acknowledgment of Terms
By submitting an entry, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms & Conditions in their entirety.
